1970 Was A Very Good Year !!

Catherine and I were married in 1970. I kept telling her that I needed something to help me remember. Thought this was a great way.This is our 1970 Chevelle Super Sport. We had a 1970 Camero but with the addition of Jacob to the family.....it had to go. We have spent most of July and August in Logan and Bear Lake this year with projects. Last year for the 4th...I was mowing the lawn when Jessica sent me some pictures of the Car show in Logan. I told her that I would be there the next year. This year I said that next year I would be in it. For the most part if someone said....what is your favorite color I would say....Blue. Looking at it now. My Truck is Black, the enclosed trailer is black, My motorcycle is black. Now a black car. Getting like Stephen and Diane with White! Diane named their Jeep "Wilbur" or " Walter" something like that. I guess this is Sarah. Isn't she sweet.

Tom use to let me drive his back in High School. Never really got it out of my system.

It is Spring ...What esle would you Do!

We got tired of the kids going to Moab and us staying behind. Last Saturday we took Amylia, Max and went to see the sights. Jordan and Liesel took us...What better guide could you get than that! The last time Catherine was there, she was Pregnant with Jordan. She spend most of the trip tending kids, so she was glad to see Delicate Arch (and others) for the first time. FYI...I am posting these from the trailer looking down down on the desert below Ferron. What has Technology done to us.!! Double Arch was Spectacular!

New Bear Lake Adventure

We started exploring the idea of being a part of what is coined "The Caribbean of the Rockies" aka Bear Lake a couple of years ago. It finally happened just before Christmas. Needless to say we are really excited. We spent New Years with the family (as many as possible) We really missed Brady,Audrey and the kids. Nothing like Taco Soup when we are gathered. This kid brings a smile to just about everyone! He is going to grow up like the older kids and Scofield....wondering if there was ever a time when we didn't have a place to go soooo much fun. He Loved the hills down to the golf course to ride the sled. What a great table to fit around for a challenging game of cards. One of these years I will be lucky enough to win.

Exchanged gifts for the Granddogs. It was fun as long as they did not block the important activity going on behind them. Go JAZZ

Another weekend we were up there....we got a text from Cameron telling us to go out on the deck......We got a flyby and a wing wave. Could not believe how COOL we thought that was. Thanks Cameron for sharing that with us.

Didn't realize that it could be colder than Scofield but -17 degrees still gives us a rush....

Hawaii Post/ Maui....Our Love

Last year we spent a few days on Maui toward the end of our trip....Fell in LOVE. Told Catherine that we were coming back this year for a week. We talked Jordan and Liesel into coming along for the ride. And we are off. Arrived to just what I remembered. We Love Maui Hills. and this is the second time here. This week for the entire week. A view from our Lanai....Liesel beat me up every morning and you were sure to find her here. The view was more than beautiful!

Needless to say there were plenty of places to spend time. Before the trip was over.....we were calling this OUR beach

Banyon trees were plentiful. This was one in a town square and one that we were at last year with Jessica and Cameron.

I got after the kids last year because we were not suppose to get off the trail. This one is for you Jessica.

Found plenty of places to Hike. Some so fun that we had to repeat the trip.

These trees were Amazing and soft like a sponge because of the moisture.

Jordan has definitely taken over making sure that the old folks are taken care of and safe. Love the way he watched out for mom.

For some reason Jordan was sure Mom was going to fall down somewhere!

The kids had fun Snorkeling. Could not get Mom to participate except from the beach.

Maybe this is why!!!

Last year Cameron was above this waterfall. Jessica gave a word of warning ....NOT TO FALL. He said I am not going to fall. Famous last words as we watched him slip on the rocks and splash into the pool on his back. Every stop after that the people would say......Look Mom that is the guy that fell.

On the way into the waterfall. Jordan said to Mom... Be careful because the rocks are slippery..... This is after she made every attempt to clean the mud from behind.

Kids decided to try Surfing. We were shocked when they came back with these boards. We had no idea that they were so long from the ocean. One try was all that it took. They were a blast to watch.

Surely not to be out done!!!

The sun setting on not only a beautiful day but a beautiful week. Next year TWO WEEKS!

Eventfull September for Peter

Pete had two of the tags for 9 mile this year. This bull was a result of the public draw. I would say that it was about time for Peter to draw out. That bad part is that he was alone when he took this Monster. He had passed up 4 other bulls during the day. He was at the mouth of 16 and had left the bike in the meadow and hiked up the hill to the south. Saw this bull just as it was getting dark. Made one clean shot from about 100yrds. The bull jumped and ran downhill about 20 yards and fell on the road of the switchback going to sheep canyon. Peter called me about 10 pm and said that he needed help. Left about 6 am the next morning to help load and get him out. It was sure a beautiful day. What a great place!! Yes....... it is getting mounted!! I gave Pete one of the family tags this year so that he would have the opportunity to shoot if the right thing came along. You know how that is.......See a great buck and you have a bull tag or you see a nice Bull and you have a Deer tag. The taxidermist is sure going to love us this year. Max playing his first year of tackle football. He is #20 involved in the tackle.

Conover is a part of Drumline this year at Carbon High. Makes for some interesting moments like the Homecoming Parade and needing to be on the float with the football team.

Kind of reminds me of the days carrying my heavy horn in the day.
