Dog....Gone it Amy

When we got back from our trip..... Amy came by with a Cocker....It was our downfall. We ended up with his brother. Meet the new family member.....Shasta

Tulum ( For me the Most Spiritual Event)

As we left the bus the Plaza was full of interesting employees Catherine wasn't exactly sure how close she was gong to get. She actually went pretty wide as we were heading on. Once the walk began. It was alway and contest with Diane and Stephen. If you look back on most of the pictures Edie usually took the position that they used to call "Drag" in the cowboy days. She made sure we were all accounted for. The Flowers were really pretty......The one on the right is still the prettiest Flower that I know. Lets see.....Where is my sunglasses? Maybe I left them at the same place I left my razor. Good thing for an understanding Wife. Thanks Hun!

This site is real similar to Solomon's Temple. It had the same number of entrances. All lined up waiting our turn to get through.
Dang.....these guy liked rocks.
Smiles that no one got stuck.
Only the High Priests were allowed to have homes inside the walls. Only on High Priest could live in the home. After they died that was it......They were buried under the Altar with their Jade and other items........Kids, Wife, etc. You can see the hole in this house where that was.
A closer look at the burial site.
A few guest that were just enjoying the landscape.
These watch towers were on each corner of the compound.
Another example of the Myan Calendar. You would need to stand on the steps at this exact location and site up.
Can you see the other site? The sun would come through on the June 21st.....If your were on the steps.
We are looking at the Temple and Holy of Holy's. Great view......BTW....This guy was not part of our Book of Mormon Group.
In front of the Temple about 3 O'Clock is the alter wee they did animal sacrifice. As they got more Pegan they would go up the stairs to where they would do the Human Sacrifice.
The three doors on the Top are symbolic of the three degrees of glory. The one on the right and the other on the left were only one room. The one in the middle actually had two room that had the veil in it as a divider.
This is a close up on the engraving overhead of the room. He is upside down, with his feet at the top and Headress on the bottom. He is the white God that came down from Heaven.
The engraving on the right side is of a God right side up on his right side. Now....who could that be? On his left is a cut out without a body in it. Go Figure!!
This is the backside of what was symbolic of the Celestial Kingdom. Notice the hole close to the corner. It had two meanings or purposes. Because of the Coral reef. There was only one way to get in from the coast without crashing your boat. The Spanish had a difficult time. There is another hole on the opposite side on the wall. You had to be able to see both at the same time which would indicate that you were in the position to enter without hitting the Coral Reef. It was also symbolic of the two being necessary (husband and wife) to enter the Celestial Kingdom.
A closer look so that you can see how easy it would be to step to the side and not be able to see the hole. Especially when you are trying to see each side.
Just can't believe how good the weather was.
Look real close and see if you can find the face on the corner of this structure.

Belize Adventure

Is it possible to have another great adventure? Hit land and looking for a bathroom. What can you say when your getting old.

Ready for another boat ride. This guy knows
how to run the river. Gave the day another special treat.
Before we get under way. Big smiles
Diane was a great picture taker. I have heard that she likes to take a picture of the person taking the picture. Is this right?
Nobody wants to fall into the water.
The draw back of having a wife with long hair. Ask Brent.
Great river run!!
Showing us how the Myans played ball. No wonder I love the Jazz.
I like our Ball Court better......and what happens
when we win. Bad luck in the days of the Myan's
Our Ball Court was at least on a flat surface.
Just let me say that it was a long way to the top!!
The smiles were because these Old Folgies were finally at the top.
Congrats to all that made it. Catherine said. " I'll be darned if I am going to stay at the bottom and wish the entire way home that I had at least tried to get to the top. Good Job Hun!
Just before the Asent!
A view from the top. Look how small everyone is at the bottom.
Now we have to get down!!
Notice the safe journey Edie was taking.
Heck with the rope. I am going the
safe way.

Day Three.....Guatemala

We are in the Caribbean Coast. Ready for another Adventure Brent is alway good for a Boat Ride

Even with a load of Old Folks (Not us). We are up for a Race
Not to sure about wearing the Life Jacket
Passing through a fishing village. Made me think about the Gullable Gulls story.
Now wonder they don't wash the boats down.
Four years old...Cute as a Pin....No life jacket.. Crocks in the Rio Dulce (river sweet). Check out the boat.. School is available but so far from home that they don't get school.
She came over to show me the lobster that she had caught.
This is her home on the river. Must be laudry day.
Believe it or not the bus went down these streets. Got to be good.
Kind of reminded me of the old days.
These are called Stelae's. We are at a Myan site
called Quirigua. The high priests had these made in their honor. Notice the headress and they lots of Jade to indicate how powerfull they were. There arms are folded and they are holding a sword. Like that of Laban. They also had a round sphere like the Liahona When they found these they were all on the ground and they needed to stand them up.
Good chance to discuss with Brent what was really going on. Loved the opportunity. He was so much fun to be with.
Diane surely liked what we were seeing.
It will be good to get the pictures they took on their camera.
This is one of the Cieba trees (Tree of Life to the
Myan). They get about 300 years old.
Give you a good idea how big these trees can really get. They said that this tree is about 200 years old.
Sure were some wonderful things to see. Can't wait to take the kids there.
The stories told by these carvings are amazing.
This is where you could imaging King Mosiah giving his talk. The Acoustics were amazing.
